A 35-year-old man in Ghaziabad was arrested for the alleged killing of a 70-year-old woman during an altercation with her son in Madhuban Bapudham. The woman, Ramvati Devi, tried to protect her son, Bijendra Kumar, when an argument ensued with the accused, Majid, who resides in the same area. Majid allegedly pushed Ramvati, causing her to fall and receive fatal injuries. The incident occurred late Sunday night when Majid, who was reportedly intoxicated, was sitting outside the Kumar residence. Ramvati was taken to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries. The police have filed an FIR under various sections including culpable homicide against Majid, who has been remanded to judicial custody after appearing in court.
